I was recently asked by the Liverpool Biennial to expand an article on Jeanne van Heeswijk’s Homebaked project in Anfield, Liverpool that originally appeared on this blog in February of last year. As Homebaked is an ongoing project with ongoing ramifications, I leapt at the chance to revise, update, and delve deeper into my initial media analysis of the project. The biennial helpfully put together an online publication (called “Homebaked: A Perfect Recipe”) about the project that included this expanded article of mine, but also a number of other fine pieces of writing about the project, and even recipes and participant interviews from the people of Anfield.

Check it out here. (My article is called “2Up 2Down/Homebaked and the Symbolic Media Narrative.”)
